750 years Buttenhausen, Floodplains Lauter, Buttenhausen / Swabian Alb
WORLDS
Every village community, no matter how small, is a side-by-side, but above all a together-and-for-one, of the most diverse “worlds.” During research for the project, it became clear that the history of Buttenhausen was particularly shaped by personalities and lifestyles that were committed in various ways to the social, political, cultural, and creative community in the past and continue this tradition to these days. Particularly noteworthy are the commitments and activities of Baron von Liebenstein, Matthias Erzberger, Living Museum Alb, the Bernheimersche Realschule with the Jewish Museum, and, in a certain sense, Gustav Mesmer.
For the 750th anniversary of Buttenhausen (although there was a settlement here much earlier), a projection in the floodplais or the Lauter river near the festival tent will commemorate the solidarity and cooperation of a village community and, of course, special personalities and institutions from Buttenhausen.
A total area of approximately 8,000 square meters, including the rear facade of the Bernheimerschen Realschule facing the floodplains, will be illuminated by half a dozen outdoor LED projectors. An individual gobo (projection slide) will be produced for each of these projectors. The text material will be the anniversary motto: MIT EIN AN DER FÜR EIN AN DER (WITH ONE FOR ONE FOR ONE) and thousands of personal pronouns: I YOU HE SHE IT WE YOU. Interspersed between these will be hundreds of terms from the lives of Buttenhausen's personalities and institutions.
The overlapping projections on the ground, trees and buildings of the village dissolve the closed circle and unite to form a large whole, into which citizens and viewers can immerse themselves and become part of.
